Hello again children of God.. I trust you are enjoying the manifestation of Gods power in your life!! .. Today I’d like to introduce you to someone that we have not yet spoken of, someone that we all need!. His name is the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1: 1 -2
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
As we read this scripture, we see that the Holy Spirit was in the beginning when God created the earth. And if we look at John 1 :1 it says:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
So we can now see that the word was also in the beginning when God created the earth . And who is the Word? Lets go to :
” And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”.
The Word is Jesus Christ, for He was made flesh and is the only begotten son of God. Now lets go back to our opening scripture, in Genesis 1:1-2 , it says that “in the beginning the earth was without form and void”, which means there was nothing on the earth. But it says that the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) moved upon the face of the deep and if we look at
Genesis 1:3 it says :
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light!
The Holy Spirit and the Word, Jesus Christ caused the light to appear. We can now see from reading the scriptures, that the Holy Spirit makes things to move, brings things alive together with the Word Of God .
John 4:24 it says :
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The truth here is the Word of God , Jesus Christ in John 14:6 it says : ” for I am the way, the truth and the life “. So we can see that the Holy Spirit and the Word works hand in hand. You can’t have the Word of God without the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit without the Word of God. Without each other they are dormant, ineffective and dead! The Holy Spirit is the One that causes Gods divine power to manifest. So we need the ‘Holy Spirit’. Previously when we learnt about Now Faith , speaking in the Now Faith declaring that ” I am rich ,I am healed”. It is the Holy Spirit that is the One, who brings to life the words that we speak through Faith.
Lets go now into more detail of who the Holy Spirit is, and what He can do in our lives….
Remember our previous scripture that we looked at, concerning Now Faith , where in Romans 8:6 it talks about being spiritually minded and carnal minded. I then gave you a verse that tells us that God is Spirit.
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
We can now already see that God is Spirit. So that tell us that the Holy Spirit is a person, He is apart of God . He has a personality and we need Him for our lives to change! If He is apart of God then He has a personality of God , He has the character of Christ.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Wow so when Jesus Christ was leaving, He told his disciples that they must not worry because the Holy Spirit will come in His name and will remind them all that He taught them. So what is Jesus Christ saying here? He is saying that the Holy Spirit will take His place, which means the Holy Spirit will do what Jesus Christ did. Which is teaching us to prophesy, heal the sick, casting out demons and performing miracles.
How many of us want to prophesy, cause miracle money to appear, bring that dead business alive?!! … I’m sure all of us do!! Well here is the good news, we can do what Jesus Christ did!! The Holy Spirit is our ingredient, His our helper ..
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
Look what the scripture says, it is saying on ‘all people ‘ which means not on some but on all flesh God has poured his Spirit (Holy Spirit) . And all of us shall dream dreams and prophesy. Isn’t that amazing?!!! Now we can see how important the Holy Spirit is and why we need to have a relationship with Him.
Let’s look at the Gifts of the Holy Spirit:
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
Wow wouldn’t you love to pray more than an hour or speak in tongues and interpret tongues, to be able to touch that man or woman on the streets and immediately their life changes, to bring that man out of a drug addiction?! I would !!. And with the Holy Spirit in us we can , but we need to build a relationship with Him. We need to spend time with Him just as in the same way we need to study the Bible (Word of God) to know God. We need to invite Him in our everyday life. When the Holy Spirit came upon Mary for Jesus Christ to be born, Mathew 1:18, there was nothing in Mary’s body for her to conceive. But when the Holy Spirit came upon her , He caused her to give birth to our Savior Jesus Christ. Oh how much more will the Holy Spirit do to that marriage that is dead, that business that is not moving , your spiritual life that dormant, dead!! The Holy Spirit changes Lives , the Holy Spirit causes things that are not working to work. Without the presence of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God can not come alive . The Holy Spirit does the work of God . He causes you to walk in dominion, when you receive the Holy Spirit you will do things that you never thought you could do!!!!..
